August 17, 2011 — The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce honored 45 men & women at their 16th Annual Public Safety Awards on Friday, August 12. The awardees were from the City of Gaithersburg Police Department, Montgomery County Police, 5th District – Germantown & 6th District – Montgomery Village/Gaithersburg, Montgomery County Department of Fire & Rescue & Volunteer Fire & Rescue & Montgomery County Police Special Operations. Twenty-four (24) of the 45 were recipients’ of the highest award, the Medal of Valor.
