November 4, 2010 — Business professionals from the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber (BWCC) gathered to hear George Whitehouse, senior vice president of Sales & Marketing at Payroll Network along with Donna Triolo, customer care manager of Global Harvest Network and Vernice Bolden, president of BOLDfais discuss how outsourcing vital business functions can save local organizations time and money at the BWCC Office in Laurel, Md. on Oct. 21.
The panelists discussed everything from how to handle obstacles when outsourcing business functions to the benefits of working with external vendors to help organizations be more effective. Issues that were addressed include trust with your contractor, control over the work being done and security issues. The panelists suggested treating the outsourced company as an “employee,” with background checks and references, to ensure a transparent and successful relationship. Most importantly, businesses must be willing to communicate and collaborate with industry leaders and experts to maximize return on investment.
