Tower Federal Credit Union hosted a Grand Opening Celebration on August 3 to celebrate the opening of its newest branch, located at 300 Sentinel Drive in the National Business Park in Annapolis Junction, Md. Over 800 people stopped by to enjoy a free lunch, ice cream, popcorn, free giveaways, and prize drawings as they browsed information tables and met the new branch staff.

Tower gave away free gifts during the event, and two lucky prize winners took home a Samsung GALAXY Tab^™ and an Xbox 360^® with Kinect^™. Tower employees were on hand to sign up new members, open accounts, and answer questions about membership, products and services, loans, real estate lending, and financial planning and investment services. Tower offered a special Grand Opening promotion where members can earn a $500 cash reward at closing with a new Tower mortgage.

“It was exciting to see so many people come out for the opening of our new branch,” said Tower’s President/CEO Martin Breland, who attended the event. “We strive to open locations that make it easy for members to conduct their financial business easily and efficiently. This branch is convenient for our members working in the National Business Park, at the National Security Agency, and surrounding Fort Meade area.”

A Tower member attending the event says she appreciates the convenience of the new branch location. “I live in Virginia, and work in the National Business Park,” she says. “It’s nice to have a branch so close to where I work.”

Branch Manager Denise Kelly said she expected about 400 people, and was pleasantly surprised when the event more than doubled her original estimate.

“I am glad we had such a large turnout,” she says. “It was hectic but we met a lot of current and future members and let them know that Tower is here to meet their financial and lending needs.” In addition to individual members, Kelly says, several businesses expressed interest in joining Tower’s field of membership.

The National Business Park Branch is one of 16 Tower branches in Maryland, and the sixth in Anne Arundel County.
