Saxon Infotech, Inc., a strategic IT services consulting, development and staffing firm, serving IT prime contractors to the Federal government, mid-sized to Fortune 500 enterprises and non-profit organizations, selects five local college-bound students from Woodlawn High School to receive scholarships to continue their studies in math and/or science at accredited universities around the country.

Saxon Infotech, Inc. chose students from Woodlawn High because of its nationally recognized magnet program, a program that provides a curriculum centered around math, science, and pre-engineering and allows students to engage in honors, gifted and talented, and advanced placement courses in state-of-the-art classrooms. Woodlawn is one of the only public schools in Baltimore County to offer this program to its students.

In order for this space to continue to grow, it will be important for future generation to study this space and become industry experts. Through the College Scholarship program, we have set out to ensure that students who are committed to furthering their studies have the opportunity to do so and ultimately have the chance to contribute to the future success of our industry.

The following students received scholarships:

€ Erica Nana Serwaa Owusu;
€ Muhammad Faizan; and
€ Dominique Ariana Elizabet Parker.

Students were required to be a graduating senior at Woodlawn High, sustain a grade point average of 2.25 or greater, and had to be pursuing a bachelor's degree in math and/or science at a university upon graduation. Students that met academic requirements submitted a 250-350 word essay of their personal contributions and goals in the field of math and/or science along with their applications.
