Event will feature cutting edge technology demonstrations and prototypes.
WHAT: The Maryland Technology Development Corporation will honor a few of the “coolest” local companies at the organization’s inaugural ICE Awards. The awards program, which stands for Innovation, Company and Entrepreneur, will recognize outstanding businesses and individuals from TEDCO’s diverse portfolio of more than 300 seed and early stage companies. Winners will be announced at a special awards program taking place on May 11, 2011 at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum Heights, Md.
The event will feature novel technology demonstrations and prototypes in the fields of virtual reality, cyber security, defense, biomedicine and communication. A highlight of the awards program will be keynote remarks by Peter Corbett, founder and CEO of iStrategyLabs. Hailed as a regional trailblazer in entrepreneurship, Corbett is widely known for creative marketing approaches, coupled with a deep technical background and focus on civic innovation through community building. Fourteen finalists will be announced via press release on Wednesday, May 4.
