June 1, 2009 —
Dear Business Leaders and Friends:
We are pleased to present you with the 2009 edition of Roll Call - its 24th year of publication - in record time. Only in the first two years of publication did we publish Roll Call sooner. And this was when bill write ups were short and we had not recognized that Maryland businesses wanted other information. Maryland Business for Responsive Government (MBRG) selects legislation after each session of the Maryland General Assembly for the purpose of evaluating legislators on their votes on business-related legislation.
The bills MBRG selects for Roll Call are mainstream non-partisan business issues, and reflect the agendas of business organizations throughout the 50 states, including those of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
Our committee of approximately 30 members meets repeatedly in the winter and spring to identify important business-related legislation. Our committee has selected as few as seven bills or as many as 20 in a particular year. Each year Roll Call has stated: "MBRG's State Advisory Council selects those bills from the last General Assembly session that are of apractical or philosophical importance to the widest possible range of businesses, trade associations, and chamber of commerce."
Please consider how you might assist us in the extensive distribution of Roll Call 2009.

Sincerely,
