January 30, 2012 –— Straughan Environmental Inc. has hired Landscape Architect Myra Brosius, RLA, and James T. Noonan, AICP, as senior planner. Brosius will head the public outreach component of Straughan Environmental’s Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) project to perform environmental permitting support services for various wastewater engineering projects in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. Previously, she served as Natural Resources Planner III at Maryland Department of the Environment, TreeBaltimore Coordinator at Baltimore City Forestry Division, and as Adjunct Professor at Morgan State University.
Noonan will head the planning division at Straughan. Noonan currently serves as the vice president for the American Planning Association, Maryland Chapter. In the past he has been involved with various public policy efforts including Smart Growth implementation, the Inter-County Connector Principals Plus 1 Committee; the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Task Force; the Interagency Committee for Noise Control; and the Land Growth and Stewardship Subcommittee of the Chesapeake Bay Program. Straughan Environmental provides high quality and sustainable environmental planning, permitting and design services throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
