January 18, 2012 — Dr. M. Catherine Mailander has joined the Howard County Advisory Board of Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland. Dr. Mailander is a pediatrician and partner at Parnes, McKay, Lee and Associates. She attended college at UC Berkeley, and went to medical school at UC San Diego. After completing her residency at Johns Hopkins, she worked in the Emergency Department at Children's National Medical Center for a year prior to joining The Pediatric Center. Family and Children’s Services, with offices in the Wilde Lake Village Center in Columbia and at the North Laurel-Savage Multiservice Center in North Laurel, offers family and individual counseling, in-home services for elderly and disabled people and the Healthy Families program for first time parents. It also provides child abuse and sexual assault treatment services.
