January 11, 2012 — Earl Adams, Jr. has joined DLA Piper's Litigation and Government Affairs practices as Of Counsel in the Baltimore office. Adams most recently served as Chief of Staff in the Office of Lieutenant Governor of Maryland Anthony G. Brown, where he gained extensive experience in a wide variety of legal and governmental matters. Adams has served the people of Maryland in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor since January 2007, first in the role of Deputy Chief of Staff and then as Chief of Staff beginning in December 2008.
Before entering public service, he practiced law for several years at firms in Maryland and Washington, DC. While serving in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Adams was an attendee of Governor Martin O’Malley’s Executive Cabinet and chaired the Task Force to Study Locations in Prince George's County Best Suited for Use by State Agencies. He also served as liaison to the National Lieutenant Governors Association.
Adams participated in the Greater Baltimore Committee’s LEADERship Program, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation’s Israel Mission Alumni Scholars Program, and served as a member of the Obama-Biden Transition Team for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Legal Affairs.
