December 13, 2011 — The National Aquarium in Baltimore has hired Kate Hendrickson as the organization’s new Media Relations Manager. Prior to the National Aquarium, Hendrickson was a Social Influence Specialist for Planit, a Baltimore-based PR/advertising agency. Hendrickson spent three years at the Port Discovery Museum, serving as the PR & Marketing Coordinator and then, more recently, as the Pubic Relations & Events Specialist. Before moving to Baltimore in 2008, Hendrickson freelanced for the Campbell Soup Company, where she offered creative and public affairs services. Hendrickson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the University of Miami. She has served as a Volunteer Baltimore Certified Tourism Ambassador since 2009; is a Baltimore Tourism Association member and a Visit Baltimore GLBT Tourism Advisory Committee member. The National Aquarium is a non-profit, nationally recognized conservation, aquatic display and education organization with locations in Baltimore, MD, and Washington, DC.
