October 27, 2011 — The Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) has announced the addition of Lisa Akchin, Ray Bank and Anita Hilson to its board of directors.*
Akchin is UMBC’s Assistant to the President and Associate Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. Akchin is also vice president of the Baltimore College Town Network Governing Board and has been a member of the Baltimore City School Board since 2010.
Bank invests in and advises small, private, marketing-driven companies in the consumer, direct marketing, and services sectors. He is also a Director of Regency Centers, a publicly held REIT. Bank is currently a Trustee and Treasurer of the Baltimore Community Foundation and has been an extremely active volunteer for many years at the Baltimore School for the Arts. In the past, he served as a Trustee of the Baltimore Zoo, Bryn Mawr School, and as Trustee and President of the Board of Gilman School.
Hilson is the Director of Admissions of McDonogh School, a position she has held since 2003. Prior to her position as Director, she served as Associate Director of Admissions. Hilson served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maryland from 1990-2001. She has been an active volunteer for many years at the BSA, St. John Baptist Church and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools.
