October 18, 2011 — Maryland Medical Group Management Association’s (MD MGMA) Board of Directors has elected Melissa Pitchford, CPA, as a Medical Practice Director. Pitchford is currently Chief Financial Officer for Katzen Eye Group. From 2007-2010, Pitchford served on the MD MGMA Board of Directors as Treasurer. Prior to joining Katzen Eye Group, Pitchford worked at Timonium-based accounting and consulting firm, Katz, Abosch, Windesheim, Gershman & Freedman, P.A where she worked her way from In-charge Accountant to Shareholder. Additionally, she served as Chair for the Medical Practice Services Group of KatzAbosch. Pitchford is involved with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, Pitchford has authored several finance-related articles and taught numerous finance-related seminars. Based in Lutherville, Katzen Eye Group is the largest private eye care practice in Maryland.
