September 19, 2011 — The Morgan Stanley Foundation has made a charitable gift of $5,000 to The Horizon Foundation. The grant further leverages the ongoing volunteer activities of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney employees in the Baltimore office.
The Horizon Foundation was chosen after Robert I. Jeffrey, a financial advisor with the firm in Baltimore and a Trustee at the Horizon Foundation, received a community service award from the firm. Jeffrey is active in the community, serving as a Trustee of the Horizon Foundation, chairing Horizon's Investment Committee, and Director and Assistant Treasurer of the Howard Community College Educational Foundation. He recently completed two decades of Board service with CareFirst BlueChoice and CapitalCare and is a past president of the Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund (JREF). Mr. Jeffrey is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Howard County and a 2000 graduate of Leadership Maryland.
This gift from the Foundation offers us an additional opportunity to make a difference in the communities and neighborhoods in which we live and work" said Scott Boylan, the Complex/Branch Manager, in a release. The mission of The Horizon Foundation is to improve the health and wellness of people living and working in Howard County.
