August 17, 2011 — Children’s Guild Special Event Coordinator Berit Killingstad graduated from Leadership-Baltimore County. Killingstad has served as IEP coordinator, state assessment coordinator, transition coordinator and instructional coach for The Children’s Guild. Killingstad also held leadership positions at Overlea High School, Holabird Middle School, Sparrows Point Middle School, Hereford Middle School and Westminster High School. She has been involved with the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce, Maryland Association of Nonprofits and McDaniel College Alumni Association. In addition, she was a fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and board member for Powell Recovery Centers. Leadership-Baltimore County seeks to prepare participants for leadership positions on boards and provide the foundation for personal and career growth. The Children’s Guild provides academic and therapeutic services for children and adolescents who are traumatized, autistic and with multiple disabilities causing emotional, behavioral and learning problems.
