August 5, 2011 — Dr. Dheeraj Gandhi has joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a professor of radiology, neurology and neurosurgery. Dr. Gandhi will serve as chief of interventional neuroradiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Gandhi comes to the University of Maryland from Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was an associate professor of radiology, neurology and neurosurgery. Previously, Dr. Gandhi served as director of interventional neuroradiology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His clinical interests, in addition to stroke, include diagnosis and treatment of adult and pediatric neurovascular diseases such as aneurysms, arterio venous malformation (AVM or an abnormal collection of blood vessels in the brain) and interventional treatment of head and neck vascular abnormalities.
