

June 26, 2011 — Amy M. McClain and Robert A. Scott, attorneys in Ballard Spahr’s Baltimore office have been elected partners with the national law firm. McClain is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department and Housing Group. She primarily represents public housing authorities and affordable-housing developers in mixed-finance transactions involving a variety of funding sources, including low-income housing tax credits, public housing capital funds, tax-exempt bonds, state housing finance agency loan funds, and conventional financing. McClain is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association and the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law. Scott is a member of the Litigation Department whose practice emphasizes real estate, title insurance, and consumer finance litigation. He represents major title insurance carriers and their insured lenders and property owners in title disputes. Scott has significant experience in handling claims related to subprime mortgage loans and disputed foreclosures. Scott is a member of the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Title Insurance Litigation Committee, Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland, Peer Review Committee, and also chairs the Real Estate Litigation Committee's Subprime Crisis Subcommittee.
