March 2, 2011 — College of Notre Dame of Maryland has appointed Thomas Maher to Vice President for Finance and Administration. Previously, Maher was with Dean College, a liberal arts college in Franklin, Mass. where he served as chief financial officer, vice president and treasurer. He spent the early part of his career in corporate banking and held senior positions as corporate treasurer at Garden Way and Merkert Enterprises. In addition to his professional duties, Maher has been a member of the Financial Executives Institute, National Association of College and University Business Officers, New England Research Center for Higher Education and National Association of Corporate Treasurers. He also served on the board of managers of the Franklin YMCA and on the board of trustees of the New York State Special Olympics. Located in Baltimore, College of Notre Dame of Maryland is the first Catholic college for women in the United States to award the four-year baccalaureate degree.
