February 25, 2011 — David Matukaitis, a counselor and addiction specialist, has been named Program Director of Jewish Recovery Houses (JRH). Matukaitis began his career as a counselor in the detoxification unit at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and later as a counselor, patient educator, continuing care coordinator and marketing/business developer at New Beginnings at Hidden Brook. He then spent nearly two decades serving as a counselor, community and family liaison, and case manager at Father Martin's Ashley, a secluded detoxification facility and 28-day inpatient treatment center in Havre de Grace. During that time, Matukaitis also provided counseling services to clients at the Phoenix Recovery Center in Edgewood, Recovery Partners in Bel Air, and Corner Stones Recovery House in Aberdeen. He also founded Addictions Case Management in Abingdon, which provides case management consultation services for existing and proposed facilities. Based in Baltimore, JRH is the largest and only drug and alcohol abuse recovery program in the country for Jewish men and women,
