February 14, 2011 — Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) honored Clifford M. Kendall, the chairman and former CEO of Computer Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI), with its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.
The TCM Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the excellence expected of a business executive over the course of a career by also serving the community at large. The recipient must have demonstrated generosity and compassion along with business savvy ensuring that his or her lasting legacy encompasses both corporate success and community involvement.
The TCM Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the excellence expected of a business executive over the course of a career by also serving the community at large. Prior to joining CDSI, Kendall's career included positions with Washington Gas Light Company, American University, Washington University in St. Louis, and the consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. Kendall serves on the board of directors and executive committee of both the Suburban Maryland High Technology Council and The Greater Washington Board of Trade. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Montgomery County Technology Enterprise Center and a member of the Montgomery/Prince George's County CEO Roundtable. Kendall serves as a director of The Lighthouse, which manages investments for the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and is chairman of the Montgomery County Community Foundation. One of his most prestigious accomplishments was the establishment of The Cliff and Camille Kendall Foundation in 1998. This Foundation endows numerous scholarships for students majoring in Computer, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland. TCM is the largest technology trade group serving the advanced technology and biotechnology communities of Maryland.

One of his most prestigious accomplishments was the establishment of The Cliff and Camille Kendall Foundation in 1998. This Foundation endows numerous scholarships for students majoring in Computer, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland.
