February 10, 2011 — Kevin J. Manning, Ph.D., president of Stevenson University, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). Dr. Manning will represent NAICU Region II member institutions from Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, and New York. He began his career working as a faculty member at Webster University. Manning then held various key administrative positions at Washington University, Elizabethtown College, and Immaculata University. Dr. Manning received his doctorate in educational administration from The Ohio State University and his master’s from Shippensburg University. He has served as a board member for United Way of Central Maryland, Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC), Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT), the Independent College Fund of Maryland, and also attended the Harvard Seminar for Experienced Presidents.. NAICU is a national association representing private higher education, serving as the unified voice of more than 1,000 independent college and university presidents, and specialized, state, and regional association executives. Stevenson University is Maryland’s third largest independent university.
