February 7, 2011 — Joe Holland, President of Holland Construction was named the “Emerging Professional of 2010” by The Maryland Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Holland was chosen based on the company’s “commitment to building Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified buildings in the Maryland region,” specifically the Baltimore Medical System facility and Highlandtown Healthy Living Center in downtown. The project achieved a LEED Platinum certification for interior build-out and LEED Gold for the core and shell. The Healthy Living Center is recognized as the first health center in Baltimore and among the first in the Mid-Atlantic region to achieve these distinctions. The Leadership and Inspiration Awards are designed to recognize the people, projects, initiatives and organizations that have contributed to market transformation, community organization and change.
