December 7, 2010 — The Board of Directors of the Annapolis & Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAAEDC) has named Lara L. Fritts as its president and chief executive officer (CEO). Fritts is currently the director of Economic Development for the city of Cudahy, Wisconsin. Previously, Fritts was executive director of the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation in Alexandria, Va.; president of the Washington, D.C. Technology Council; and director of membership of the Technology Council of Maryland. She also served as president and executive director and was involved in the creation of the Greater Rockville Partnership, now known as Rockville Economic Development, Inc.
Four new members and three ex-officio members also have been named to the AEDC Board. The new members include:
- Stewart Cohen, owner and proprietor of Peppers in downtown Annapolis.
- Richard Franyo, proprietor of the Boatyard Bar & Grille in Eastport.
- Cardie Templeton, co-owner of 222 Severn and W&P Nautical.
- Chuck Walsh, former chair of the Mayor’s Economic Development Idea Transition Team.
- Bob Burdon, president and CEO of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
- Connie Del Signore, president and CEO of the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau.
- Michael D. Mallinoff, city manager, City of Annapolis.
The main initiative of the AAAEDC is to support the growth and boost the success of businesses in Anne Arundel County.
