October 18, 2010 — Hydro Aluminum has hired industry veteran Michael Stier to lead business operations for the company’s Western Region. Stier comes to Hydro from Alcoa Electrical and Electronic Solutions (AEES). He joined Alcoa in 1989 and worked his way up to Vice President – Corporate Strategy and Development. He held senior executive positions in the company’s wire, automotive and commercial transportation divisions, and has served on several AEES boards. Stier joined the Cadillac division of General Motors as a design engineer after earning his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
