Sept. 22 — MedStar Health, a multi-jurisdictional health system comprised of nine hospitals and 20 other health-related businesses across the Baltimore- Washington Corridor, has appointed Maureen McCausland, DNSc, RN, FAAN, as senior vice president and MedStar Health's first system chief nursing officer(CNO). Beforehand, McCausland served as senior vice president of Patient Care Services and CNO for University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Prior to this, she served as VP for Nursing, Hanna Pavilion at University Hospitals of Cleveland, VP for Nursing at Mount Sinai Hospital, and as CNO for University of Pennsylvania Health System. McCausland is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, was a Wharton Fellow and a Senior Fellow at the Leonard David Institute for Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, and received an Award of Appreciation in 2000 from the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center.
