August 30, 2010 — Chris D. Geddes, a chemistry professor at UMBC and director of UMBC’s Institute of Fluorescence (IoF), has been named a 2010 “Innovator of the Year” by "The Daily Record". In addition to his faculty position, Geddes serves as chief scientific officer for Plasmonix, Inc., a new company at bwtech@UMBC's Clean Energy Technology Incubator.
