August 11, 2010 — Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) President & CEO Donald C. Fry has been appointed to the state’s new Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation Funding. Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley appointed Fry as a business community representative on the 24-member panel charged with reviewing the state’s transportation funding resources and recommending options for strengthening the way the state funds its transportation infrastructure. A former state senator and member of the House of Delegates, Fry served as chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and the Environment. He also served on the Special Joint Task Force on Transportation and in 2002 and 2003 chaired the Vision 2030 Oversight Committee that developed transportation strategies for the Central Maryland region. He currently serves on the Maryland Port Commission.
