June 8, 2010 — Mary Ann Scully, Howard Bank's president and chief executive officer, has been chosen Chairman-Elect of the Maryland Bankers Association. Prior to organizing Howard Bank, she served as executive vice president for Regional Banking, senior vice president for Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, and senior vice president / Group Head of International Banking for Allfirst Bank (formerly The First National Bank of Maryland and now M&T Bank). Additionally, Scully is chair of the Columbia Foundation, Howard County's community foundation, and a trustee of Howard County General Hospital and of the Horizon Foundation. In 2009, Mary Ann Scully was nominated for Corridor Inc's Person of the Year Award. The Maryland Bankers Association is the only Maryland-based trade group representing commercial banks and thrifts, the MBA works to maintain the competitiveness of the banking industry.
