June 2, 2010 — John V. Murphy, an attorney in the Catonsville firm of Murphy & Murphy, has been appointed to the board of directors at NeighborSpace of Baltimore County. Murphy has served in several public capacities, including: County Councilman from the 1st District, a member of the Baltimore County Board of Appeals, a member of the Planning Board, chairman of the County Council’s Commission to Review the Redistricting Process, and as a hearing officer and Deputy Zoning Commissioner for the County. Murphy practices law with his daughter, Maureen Murphy. Prior to starting his legal career, Murphy worked for over two decades as an electrical engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corp. Defense Center in Baltimore.
