May 26, 2010 — Anita M. Sheckells, CPA, CCIFP of Katz, Abosch, Windesheim, Gershman & Freedman (KAWG&F), has been named treasurer of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Sheckells currently serves as KatzAbosch's co-chair of the Audit and Accounting Services Group and is past-chair of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Services Group. She has held various leadership positions, and is a member of several organizations, including: board member and past president of Construction Financial Management Association, past chair of the Events Committee for Associated Builders and Contractors, current member of Women in ABC; Building Congress & Exchange; Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), past chair of Construction Accounting Committee; Women President’s Organization; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); past Accounting Advisory board member for University of Baltimore; and a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts. KatzAbosch is a regional certified public accounting, tax, and consulting firm based in Timonium .
