May 3, 2010 — The Navy League of the United States has awarded its 2010 Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award for impeccable leadership in the maritime defense industry to Richard Langseder, senior vice president of Business Development for Curtiss-Wright Flow Control (CWFC). Langseder held several senior management positions with the company including interim president, senior vice president of military programs and director of engineering. Before joining Curtiss-Wright's Target Rock subsidiary, Langseder served as a research and development engineer for General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division and then as a flight test engineer for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp. Langseder is active in numerous professional organizations, including: the Navy League of the United States, the American Society of Naval Engineers, the Naval Institute, the American Nuclear Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Materials. CWFC, based in Falls Church, Va., specializes in the design and manufacture of engineered products for the commercial nuclear power industry, oil and gas processing facilities and a range of critical military programs.
