March 18, 2010 — The Multinational Development of Women in Technology (MDWIT) is honoring Dr. Bernice R. Sandler with the Joan Korenman Award. Dr. Sandler was awarded for her on-going dedication to the field of gender equity, even in the face of great opposition. She currently serves as a senior scholar at the Women’s Research and Education Institute in Washington, DC, and is an adjunct associate professor at Drexel University College of Medicine. In addition to this, she is the first person to testify before a Congressional committee about discrimination against women in education. The Multinational Development of Women in Technology (MDWIT) was founded as a non-profit organization (501c3) to accelerate growth in the global knowledge economy.
