The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) has named Dr. Nancy Noben-Trauth and the late Stephen Purcell as winners of the 2010 Kendall Service Awards.Dr. Noben-Trauth, the assistant program director for the University of Maryland, College Park Biological Sciences program at the Universities at Shady Grove, received the 2010 Excellence in Teaching Award. Purcell, an academic advisor for University of Maryland University College, and most recently a program coordinator for the University of Baltimore at The Universities at Shady Grove, received the 2010 Outstanding Service to Students Award. He also volunteered his time with the USG Green Committee, and worked to make USG a student-friendly campus. Sadly, Stephen Purcell passed away in November, but will always be remembered in the USG community.
