March 1, 2010 — Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC Member David B. Applefeld will be a featured speaker at the American Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee Seminar, occurring Mar. 4-6, in Tucson, Az.

Applefeld will participate in the panel discussion entitled, Independent Defense Counsel: When Can the Policyholder Select Its Own Defense Lawyer and How Much Does the Insurer Have to Pay? This session will identify potential conflicts that trigger a policyholder’s right to select independent counsel, the ways various states handle this issue, the rates that insurers are required to pay, and the obligations of independent counsel.

He serves as national panel trial counsel and special litigation counsel for several insurance companies and businesses, and is a frequent speaker and author on insurance law, construction law and litigation topics. Applefeld has earned numerous industry accolades including being named in Outstanding Lawyers of America and Maryland’s Legal Elite, as well as being named a Maryland Super Lawyer every year since 2007.
