February 23, 2009 — Pamela Blow-Mitchell, vice president of mission success at Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Global Services (IS&GS), and Richard A. Smith, director of common products subcontract management at Lockheed Martin Space Systems, were two of 41 Lockheed Martin engineers and scientists which received prestigious awards at the 24th annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) held in Baltimore, Md., on Saturday, February 20. Blow-Mitchell is a recipient of a 2010 BEYA President's Award for IT Leadership, and Smith received the 2010 BEYA Special Recognition Award.
In addition to this, twenty-eight Lockheed Martin employees were recognized for shaping the future of engineering, science and technology with Modern Day Technology Leadership (MDTL) Awards. These individuals are recognized as up-and-coming professionals whose innovations impact entire industries. The Lockheed Martin honorees are:
