February 19, 2009 — The Board of Trustees of Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (WREIT) has elected John P. McDaniel as Chairman of WRIT. McDaniel previously served as WREIT's lead independent board member. Prior to his retirement, McDaniel served as chief executive officer of MedStar Health, a multi-institutional healthcare organization. He was also the chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. WREIT is a self-administered, self-managed, equity real estate investment trust (REIT).
