October 2, 2009 — Robert L. Orndorff has been elected vice chairman of the board at Sandy Spring Bancorp. He will succeed Hunter Hollar as chairman of the board when Hollar steps down on December 31, 2009. Orndorff, president and owner of RLO Contractors, Inc., has chaired the Executive and Governance Committee since 2007. Orndorff was elected lead independent director in 2008 when Hollar became chairman of the board. Current president and CEO, Daniel J. Schrider, has replaced Hollar as president in March 2008 and was named CEO in January when he also joined the board. Sandy Spring Bancorp is the oldest and largest publicly traded banking company headquartered and operating in Maryland.
