October 2, 2009 — The Children's Law Center (CLC) presented the Honorable Eric H. Holder Jr. with the 2009 Distinguished Child Advocate Award at its ninth annual Helping Children Soar benefit. He was honored for his trail-blazing career and his ongoing commitment to child advocacy. Holder currently serves as a partner at Covington & Burling, LLP in Washington, DC. He is also a former judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and a U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. The Children's Law Center is the largest legal services provider in the District of Columbia and the only organization that provides free, comprehensive legal representation specifically on behalf of children.
