Peter Z. Garver, formerly vice president of development for Corporate Office Properties Trust, formed SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS, a company that will develop and provide third-party consultation for “green” real estate projects. With more than 23 years of real estate experience, including 11 years as a developer, Garver will focus his efforts throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
The HOWARD COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY named Katrina Carroll as its new business development specialist. Carroll comes from a diverse finance background, which includes working with the Baltimore City Housing Authority as a contractual development manager. With 15 years experience in investments and real estate, Carroll will administer the Howard County Incentives Program and work on the retention and attraction of businesses to Howard County. Brenda Tompkins was hired as an operations manager by J-REF, a small business financier in Howard County. With 31 years of banking experience, Tompkins will manage loan administration, accounting and other operating aspects of the organization. Kimberly D. Matthews was promoted to senior vice president of human resources at BRADFORD BANK. Kimberly joined Bradford a year ago as vice president, director of human resources. She is currently leading the implementation of a new online resources system. Kevin W. Carter was named vice president of commercial lending for SEVERN SAVINGS BANK in Annapolis. With more than 20 years experience in business banking, Carter will be responsible for developing commercial banking products and services as well as fostering relationships in the business community.
MELWOOD HORTICULTURAL TRAINING CENTER, a nonprofit serving people with disabilities in the Washington D.C. area, hired four executives. Joel Pagliarello is the new senior vice president of contract services. Kristen Rocks joins Melwood as director of the newly created children and family services department. Orlie Reid Jr. has been hired as director of the newly created clinical services department. Antionette Doublin joins Melwood as the director of community living. THE REDHEAD COS., a full-service marketing and advertising agency based in Ellicott City, recently welcomed four new members. Keisha Chapman, previously an account executive from OgilvyOne Worldwide, joins Redhead as interactive project manager. Reagan Goss Drumheller was named the new art director after designing eye-catching campaigns for 11 years. Nana Elsayed, formerly an intern at Redhead and Howard Bank, is the newest account coordinator. Juliet Gilden, formerly an associate at Gilden Integrated, is a new account executive. CONSTELLATION ENERGY PARTNERS, a limited liability company focused on the acquisition, development and production of oil and natural gas, made several leadership changes. Chief Operating Officer Stephen R. Brunner will assume the role of president and chief executive officer. Charles C. Ward has been named chief financial officer and treasurer. Michael B. Hiney, who has served as controller, has been named chief accounting officer. Brian Cotter was named the new director of pharmacy at the BALTIMORE WASHINGTON MEDICAL CENTER. In his new role, he will participate in departmental planning and be accountable for coordination and direction of the overall operations of the pharmaceutical services department. Will S. McCullough joined the Bethesda office of LINCOLN PROPERTY CO. as senior vice president. He will focus on industrial and office brokerage services throughout Maryland. Prior to joining the full-service commercial real estate firm, McCullough was a broker with Chesapeake Real Estate Group. THE COLUMBIA BANK, headquartered in Columbia, selected Annie L. Geiermann as senior vice president of its new community business banking division. Following her first tenure at Columbia Bank, she spent five years as senior vice president of Citizens National Bank.
Daniel P. Sparacino was selected by CRESTLINE HOTELS & RESORTS INC. to be director of sales and marketing for the Sheraton Annapolis Hotel. Sparacino recently worked for the Kor Hotel Group where he was the area director of sales and marketing for the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica and Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles hotels. CROSBY MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS, has an addition to its team, as well as five promotions. Karin Jorgenson joined the agency’s public relations team as account executive. Before joining Crosby, Jorgenson worked on media relations programs for a variety of high-tech companies. Amy Hitt, a 13-year employee at Crosby, was named vice president of production services. With 15 years of experience as an illustrator and graphic designer, Matthew Kaler was promoted to art director. In addition, Crosby announced the promotions of Julian Hernandez to senior account executive, Shannon Benil to accounting manager and Pamela Fasolo to assistant production manager.
The GAITHERSBURG-GERMANTOWN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE welcomes Laura Rowles as their new director of events. Rowles joined the chamber after four years at Office Paper Systems, working in the sales and marketing. She has 10 years of experience in journalism, mass communications, sales, customer service and marketing. Brant Standridge was named president of BB&T’s Chesapeake community bank region based in Annapolis. He most recently served as the bank’s area executive for Baltimore and as a credit analyst in the Business Loan Administration.
Rosimar Melendez was selected by the UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL MARYLAND to be the new regional director for community partnerships in Howard and Anne Arundel Counties. In this role, she will manage all aspects of community impact, volunteer recruitment, board development and community relations in both counties. Previously, Melendez was United Way of Central Maryland’s director of resource development.
TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS INC., an Annapolis-based provider of mission-critical wireless communications, expanded its management team with the appointment of Sam Collura to vice president of sales to lead North American sales for wireless and public safety products. TCS appointed Kim Robert Scovill as senior director to lead government affairs efforts and Meredith Allen as senior director of corporate communications. EMERGENT BIOSOLUTIONS INC., a multinational biopharmaceutical firm, promoted W. James Jackson to chief scientific officer. Jackson has served in several management capacities within the company including vice president for commercial product development and most recently as vice president for technical support. BANK OF AMERICA promoted Cindy Flanders to global commercial banking executive for the Mid-Atlantic region. In her new role, Flanders is responsible for leading the delivery of service to companies with revenues of between $2.5 million and $2 billion. Most recently, she served as the commercial banking executive for Maryland, the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. Laurent Berman has joined Rockville’s MASON DIXON FUNDING INC. as vice president of construction development. After selling luxury homes for 10 years, Berman became fascinated with the mortgage side of the business and worked for Federal Funding Mortgage Corp., then First American Mortgage. Berman plans to develop the new home construction mortgage side for Mason Dixon, which totals more than $650 million in loans each year. Deborah C. Shumaker was promoted to vice president and business development sales manager for EAGLEBANK, headquartered in Bethesda. She was formerly vice president and cash management officer and partnered with EagleBank’s sales teams to help match cash management services to customers’ business needs. Shumaker’s 17-year banking background includes treasury management and commercial banking. Stephen D. King has been named chief financial officer for CLARK TURNER SIGNATURE HOMES. He brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate and construction fields. Clark Turner is an award-winning builder of high-quality homes in communities throughout Maryland.
At FORCE 3 INC. of Crofton, Eugene Casaus was promoted to regional manager for all of the firm's contracts with the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. Wes Osborne was promoted to vice president of federal sales for civilian, Department of Defense and intelligence agencies. Susan Bogucki has moved up to senior account manager for civilian federal accounts. Mark Miller is now regional manager for defense health care. Byron Love was promoted to director of federal services program management office. Mark Cuthie was promoted to operations director for Department of Defense and special programs. Peggy Patrick, Kelly Taylor, Jennifer Grove and David Evans recently joined FORCE 3 INC. After a stint as president of her own company, Knot Technology Solutions Inc., Patrick returned to Force 3 as director of federal services sales. Taylor, who had been Patrick's vice president at Knot, is a client sales executive for Force 3's federal services sales team. Grove, previously an inside sales representative at GTSI Corp, is now an account executive for civilian agency accounts at Force 3. Evans, previously an account manager at Cisco Systems Inc., joined Force 3 as a business development manager. SOURCEFIRE INC. has added John C. Becker and John C. Burris to its board of directors. Previously, Becker was chief executive officer of Cybertrust. Burris currently leads the global sales and services organization at Citrix Systems Inc. ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY PARTNERS INC., dedicated to community development and affordable housing, appointed Lori Chatman to president of the Enterprise Community Loan Fund. She is currently the senior vice president and chief credit officer for the fund with responsibility for reviewing and approving loan transactions and overseeing the loan portfolio. ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY INVESTMENT INC., a real estate investment company for affordable housing and community development, appointed four new officers. After being named director and head of investment management, Kari R. Fitzpatrick was selected as vice president of investment management in the capital markets business. Bill Ostrye was elected as vice president of fund analysis. Tom Eastman was elected to vice president of tax credit syndication where he analyzes, evaluates and bids for affordable housing investment opportunities. John Ducey was promoted to vice president of structured finance. Kathy Dickerson has joined Rockville-based NETSTAR-1 INC. as the company’s vice president of human resources. Dickerson has held senior human resources positions in a variety of industries, including information technology, biotechnology, and hospitality. Philip Frost, the president of CALESCA PHARMACEUTICALS, was appointed by AVALON PHARMACEUTICALS to its board of directors. Prior to Calesca, Frost was executive vice president and chief scientific officer at ImClone Systems Inc. Based in Germantown, Avalon is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of first-in-class cancer therapeutics. The HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP INC. Scott Hewitt as the company’s regional vice president of the Baltimore regional office. He will assume responsibility for Hartford’s agency relationships and the company’s sales and growth initiatives for all property and casualty lines. Hewitt comes from Selective Insurance where he was responsible for the growth of that company’s $1.5 billion commercial book of business. Brian R. Sims has joined CONMED HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT INC. as senior director of mental and behavioral health. Most recently, Sims was physician supervisor at Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville where he was responsible for a forensic inpatient unit and was also acting division director. Timothy A. Hodge has joined MILES & STOCKBRIDGE, a mid-Atlantic law firm with more than 200 lawyers. Hodge was a partner with Tydings & Rosenberg and chief legal officer for Baltimore-based 180’s Inc. With a substantial amount of experience in the fields of technology and biotechnology, Hodge serves as a trusted business advisor and confidant to a diverse group of clients. The SYMBIO GROUP, a provider of outsourced software development, testing, globalization, and support services out of China, hired Li Huang as senior vice president and country manager for Greater China. Mr. Huang brings more than 15 years of experience in management and sales at Motorola, Siemens, and Microsoft China. CLIFTON GUNDERSON, a certified public accounting and consulting firms, named Bill Oliver as assistant managing partner of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Client Service Center, and Pat Byer as partner-in-charge of the Calverton office. TBB GLOBAL LOGISTICS, an international supply chain services provider, announced that Dennis Kelly has become president of the Baltimore Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association. Kelly has been vice president of international operations at TBB Global Logistics in Linthicum since 2003. Edward “Ted” J. Baines, a partner in the litigation department of SAUL EWING LLP, was elected to the firm’s executive committee. Working from the firm’s Baltimore office, Baines focuses his practice on real estate, commercial contract, construction, and insurance law. The president of RCM&D, Robert T. Cawley, was named to ASSUREX GLOBAL’s board of directors. Fraser’s most recent position was with the American Red Cross where she directed transactions and real estate asset optimization for the national headquarters in Washington, DC. David von Rueden, M.D., an advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon, joined the St. Agnes Bariatric Center of Excellence at ST. AGNES HOSPITAL. He comes to St. Agnes from GBMC were he was the chairman of bariatric surgery and medical director of the Comprehensive Health and Obesity Management Program. |
