April 15, 2010—Stevenson University’s Brown School of Business and Leadership is adding the Sport Management track to its Business Administration program, according to a press release. 
The Sport Management track is designed for students who are interested in managing or providing marketing support to professional, intercollegiate, or interscholastic athletic organizations, as well as sport- and fitness-related businesses, according to the press release.

“Our Sport Management program extends beyond students interested in the management of professional or collegiate athletic programs,” said in a statement Deborah Leather, chair of the Department of Business Administration. “The track is also perfect for those who envision careers in K-12 schools, in the growing fitness and exercise industry, or in sport-related businesses such as clothing and other products.”

The new Sport Management track aims to prepare students for successful careers in the management and marketing of athletic programs and teams. The track is also geared for those students who seek to oversee and operate recreational management programs for resorts, municipalities, and park services.

In addition to core business administration courses, the track will offer courses in the economics of sports, sports law, sport management, and sports marketing, according to the release.
